Trattoria Marcella

You haven't been, it is okay, but you NEED to go.

Friday night we ventured not far to Robust in Webster Groves, first always a problem for me is this place doesn't take reservations. It was slammed, not a place to stand in the wine bar, all tables were taken and instead of standing around and waiting the hour and half, while nudging elbows with the few that had tables we made our way to Road House 61....

Road House 61 is a music (blues), Cerole, Cajun hideaway in Webster Groves off of Old Orchard. I had only been there once and it was great. The owner came over to our table (a favorite of mine, always makes me feel appreciated) and told his story of why certain items are on the menu. A ton of beers to choose from and a great bar, but again an hour an half wait.By this time it was 8:30 and I knew needed to keep going Eastward (Hwy 44) so the genius I am and knowing our two friends, Keely & Gus, had never been I insisted Patrick, call Trattoria Marcella.

Not only is it inexpensive, but amazing. Some of the best Italian food. This is a place that your fork reaches over to the other side of the table, because whatever she is having, you want to try! Great bread, fresh hummus. From the minute we walked in at 9:00 PM, everyone in the Trattoria was happy we were there. Keely & Gus looked over the menu with amazement and glee to the prices. We started off with the Bruschetta and a bottle of Pinot Noir that was super smooth. The boys order the Lasagna, which is baked individually, with their amazing tomato sauce.Keely had their "Know For" Lobster Risotto and I had the special Ravioli with chicken & prosciutto, and of course a other bottle of wine, this time a favorite of ours, Simi Cab!

There were no complaints. We were so stuffed that dessert wasn't possible. They do serve all the classics. So if you haven't been, you need to go! If you haven't been in awhile, perfect time for Winter Comfort Food!

On a side note, this is where my family met, Patrick's family. A great spot for that. The bar isn't large, but you can go early for a drink. They have a TV so you can get the score of any game. There is no parking lot, but a lot of on street parking. Men....drop the ladies at the curb!

Introduction

Hi, I'm Kelly and I love everything about food; from the actually ingredient, to the preparation, the presentation, the taste, and the satisfying feel only food can give you.
Not to mention there is nothing more exciting than having a dressing drink, while getting ready to go out and eat on a weekend night with a either a loved one or friends. Food is always the most easy thing to have a conversation about (weather is so boring) and it brings so many people together. I cherish my memories being around the dinner table growing up. My grandmother Cookie, always let us play with the grease and dirty pans when she was done cooking, it was always so much fun whipping up our imagination. I would like to share my love of food with you!

I love to cook and I love to eat out. Other than reading the few reviews that our local paper gives us, I thought about the times I Google search for not only recipes but restaurants in Saint Louis and out. I hope you enjoy reading about my dining adventures!

I am 26 years old, recently married to my husband Patrick. I work in the Private Equity field. Between cooking, playing with my yellow lab Trigger, eating out, staying in shape, playing sports and dreaming about my love affair with food, (trying my best to be the best) I hope to make at least a few people happy with my blog! I love to entertain, this is my new way to entertain those that do know me and that don't.

Cheers!
Kelly
